Sikh Sikhs going to Pakistan were not allowed to travel through Samjhauta Express

Attari: (Jago Sikh Media News) A group of Sikh pilgrims could not go there despite having a visa to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the martyrdom in Pakistan. This Jatha comprised 80 Sikh devotees. He was allowed to travel by special train but he wanted to go to Pakistan via Samjhauta Express. 68 devotees were given Bhai Mardana Memorial Committee and 12 were given visas from Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi (Sarna).

Bhai Mardana Memorial Committee chief Harpal Singh Bhullar said that when he reached the Attari railway station to go to Pakistan via Samjhauta Express, the pilgrims stopped the passengers from boarding the Samjhauta Express. He appealed to the railway department that he has already gone to Pakistan via the Samjhaut Express on such a visa, but no hearing has been done. He claimed that a special train was to be sent by the Pakistan government to the pilgrims but the Indian Railways did not allow Pakistan's train to come here. That is why they decided to go to Pakistan via Samjhauta Express. Withheld from going to Pakistan, the devout pilgrims went back to the station. The passengers traveled with their luggage and all the necessary documents. The Sikh leaders alleged that the discrimination was done by the central government. Now this passenger's death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Will go to Pakistan.
It is notable that according to the original Nanakshahi Calendar, the martyrdom day of Pancham Patshah is being celebrated on 16th June in Pakistan, whereas the Shiromani Akali Dal and its allied organizations have celebrated the martyrdom day on May 29 according to the changed calendar. The Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee has approved the original Nanakshahi Calendar (2003)
